Yesterday, Incubate hosted the inaugural Biotech In Your Backyard BBQ at the Florida House on Capitol Hill, bringing together lawmakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and biotechnology leaders to celebrate the innovation ecosystem driving economic growth and medical progress across the country.

The event highlighted a simple but important reality: biotechnology isn't confined to a handful of coastal hubs. Across all 50 states, biotech companies are creating jobs, attracting investment, advancing research, and developing the next generation of treatments and cures. Attendees heard remarks from Senator Todd Young (R-IN), a longtime advocate for policies that support innovation and strengthen America's global competitiveness in biotechnology.

The evening also featured the presentation of Incubate's first-ever Biotech In Your Backyard Champion of Innovation Awards to Senator Young and Congressman Scott Peters (D-CA) in recognition of their leadership on policies that help foster investment, entrepreneurship, and scientific advancement in the life sciences.

Incubate remains committed to educating lawmakers about the critical role early-stage biotech investment plays in driving economic growth, creating high-quality jobs, and delivering lifesaving medical breakthroughs for patients across the country.
